There are a number of classes to choose from. Some of the disciplines we offer are Western Pleasure, Trail Riding, English, Jumping, Dressage, Barrels, Poles, and Natural Horsemanship just to name only a few.
Skills learned consist of;
haltering, leading, grooming, tacking, hoof care, bathing, clipping, horsemanship, anatomy, vaccinations, tack care, nutrition, worming, dental care, driving, bareback riding, confidence courses, jumping, trails, barrels and poles.
Experienced lesson horses are provided for each student along with all necessary equipment. Horse size and personality choices are maximized due to our large herd selection. To maintain consistency, students ride the same horse for each lesson.
Group Lessons consist of a full hour of instruction. Students are required to halter, groom, and tack their horse for each and every lesson. This instills proper handling and creates a confident equestrian.
Group lessons: $30/hr
Private lessons: $40 per 1/2 hr
Short Stirrups In the Short Stirrup lessons the student will be introduced to a pony that fits his/her size and body style by a talented instructor. Together they will work as a team and explore horsemanship in a fun and safe environment.
As this is a private lesson your child will have the complete attention of the instructor to guide, coach and mentor as they learn and enjoy the pony together.
We use a building block system of instruction. Each new concept taught corresponds to the previous block of instruction to maximize learning. The instructor will teach the rider how to approach the pony correctly, brush the pony to prepare for saddling, saddle the pony correctly, mount and sit on the the pony with balance and confidence and then - the riding starts.
Once the rider is mobile and on the go, the instructor will maintain the riders balance and prep the rider for holding the reins and teach proper steering techniques and stopping.
As these riders become confident and capable of riding their pony unassisted, are able to brush their pony properly and can attempt to bridle they are ready to graduate to our Group lessons.
Short Stirrups lessons are offered Monday -Thrusday 5:00, 5:45, and 6:30
Cost: $25 per 30 minute lesson
Each student must maintain a one lesson per week to participate in the program
